The laboratory of Dr Catherine Martel is affiliated with Université de Montréal and is located at the Montreal Heart Institute. It is an emerging and dynamic laboratory specialized in atherosclerosis and lymphatic biology.


- Perform central laboratory techniques (including flow cytometry, cell sorting, cell culture, Western Blot and confocal microscopy)

- Perform perfusion, sampling, homogenization, sectioning (cryostat) and labeling (mainly immunofluorescence / immunohistochemistry) of animal tissues (mainly mice)

- Ensure the proper functioning of the laboratory by preparing common solutions and ensuring the maintenance of equipment

- Manage orders for laboratory products

- Ensure the transmission of knowledge of laboratory techniques to students


- A bachelor or master degree in biomedical sciences or a related field

- Experience with flow cytometry (analysis and sorting) and immunofluorescence techniques

- Experience with animal handling

- Experience with PRISM and excel

- Bilingualism in English and French
